Crunchy Tactics’ original form was created during the first video game jam I ever participated in, having only done a board game one previously. This turned out to be a fateful event because I ended up meeting my current game dev partner who I’ve been working with throughout the last couple years.

Crunchy Tactics is a real time tactical strategy game set at a campground in which you control 3 forest critters via mouse and keyboard and attempt to capture food items and bring them back to your cave.

The game jam theme was “mud season” which, as I’m only a 7 year Mainer, am unsure of whether the term is used outside of Maine. Either way, it is the bridge between winter and spring when the snow is melting and everything is cold, wet, and nasty.
